Location: Salem, Tamil Nadu/ Aizawl, Mizoram, India
Duration: 6 months (Intermittent Input)
Qualification:
•Bachelor’s degree in Medical Electronic or Electronic or Biomedical Engineering.
•Certifications or training in laboratory or rehabilitation equipment preferred.
Overall Professional Experience:
•Minimum 15 years of professional experience in managing laboratory, physiology, or rehabilitation-related equipment, with at least 5 completed projects.
•Experience in medical equipment planning and/or procurement, having contributed to at least 3 projects.
•Hands-on experience in the installation, calibration, and basic maintenance of laboratory, physiology, and rehabilitation equipment.
•Work experience as a Clinical Engineer in healthcare or medical care facilities.
Role & Responsibilities:
Equipment Installation & Calibration:
•Lead the installation, setup, and calibration of laboratory, physiology, and rehabilitation equipment at MSSSCRC.
•Ensure that equipment is installed according to specifications and regulatory standards, meeting safety and performance requirements.
•Conduct initial testing to verify the functionality of newly installed equipment, making adjustments as necessary to optimize performance.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
•Perform routine checks and inspections to ensure that equipment continues to meet operational standards and regulatory requirements.
•Monitor equipment performance, ensuring it adheres to safety and operational regulations in line with national and international standards.
•Assist in compliance audits and support the creation of reports to document adherence to health regulations.
Troubleshooting & Technical Support:
•Provide technical troubleshooting support for any malfunctioning laboratory, physiology, or rehabilitation equipment.
•Offer quick resolutions for minor issues and escalate complex technical problems to senior specialists or vendors for further investigation and resolution.
•Diagnose equipment faults and recommend corrective actions to maintain optimal functionality.
Training MSSSCRC Staff on Equipment Use & Maintenance:
•Develop and deliver training programs for MSSSCRC staff (clinical, technical, and administrative) on the correct use, handling, and safety protocols for laboratory, physiology, and rehabilitation equipment.
•Conduct hands-on training sessions to ensure staff are proficient in operating the equipment, including detailed instructions on how to maintain and troubleshoot the equipment.
•Create training materials and user manuals tailored to the equipment, ensuring that staff have clear, accessible guides for reference.
•Assess staff competency in operating the equipment and provide additional guidance or refresher courses as necessary to ensure staff confidence and safety in equipment handling.
•Provide specialized training in equipment calibration, regular maintenance tasks, and how to perform troubleshooting for common issues.
Record Maintenance & Reporting:
•Maintain accurate and detailed records of equipment installation, servicing, and performance, ensuring that all equipment data is properly documented and accessible.
•Track service histories, calibration schedules, and any repairs or modifications made to the equipment.
•Assist in preparing periodic reports on equipment status, including any issues identified, actions taken, and overall performance evaluation.
•Coordination with Senior Specialists & Vendors:
•Collaborate with senior specialists and vendors to manage upgrades, repairs, and replacements of equipment.
•Coordinate with vendors to procure spare parts and ensure that all equipment remains functional throughout the project duration.
•Ensure timely maintenance schedules are followed to minimize equipment downtime and avoid disruptions in medical services.
Project Support & Management:
•Assist in the management of project timelines, ensuring that equipment-related tasks such as installation, calibration, and maintenance are completed on schedule.
•Support project teams in planning and procuring equipment, ensuring that equipment specifications meet the project’s healthcare requirements.
•Provide guidance and technical input in the planning phase for procurement of new laboratory, physiology, and rehabilitation equipment.
Safety & Operational Efficiency:
•Conduct regular safety checks to ensure that all equipment complies with health and safety regulations and operates efficiently.
•Evaluate the operational efficiency of equipment and recommend improvements or upgrades when necessary.
•Ensure that all equipment is safely decommissioned or disposed of at the end of its useful life.
