The project involves the development of an approximately 1.518 km underground subway/vestibule connecting Science Centre Metro Station to the Worli Coastal Road Promenade through Mahalaxmi Racecourse. The facility is planned to provide a direct underground connection between the existing metro station and the Worli Coastal Road Promenade, passing through the operational Mahalaxmi Racecourse.
The project presents a complex urban underground infrastructure environment involving interfaces with operational metro infrastructure, existing underground utilities, the Coastal Road interchange, reclaimed land, CRZ requirements and the operational activities of Mahalaxmi Racecourse. Key considerations include utility conflicts, traffic diversion, construction staging, racecourse operations and maintaining safe interfaces with existing infrastructure.
The PMC assignment covers detailed design review and certification, construction supervision, quality and safety management, stakeholder and interface coordination, contract and cost management, and post-handover support through the Defect Liability Period.
